EARLY ACCESS

Welcome to PlaceAgain Early Access!

Upload → Identify → Verify → Review → Approve → Download → Done

Independently created with the help of AI, PlaceAgain makes recovering the locations behind your photographs simple and affordable. Five photos are free per visitor per rolling 24 hours, while capacity is available. No account required.

Your photos remain yours. Review the places we discover and choose which location information to add. AI can be wrong; some photos receive an approximate area or no GPS suggestion. Download your copies before leaving.

Gemini and OpenAI analyze each photo independently. Geographic references require evidence, and GPS changes require your approval. No automatic retries.

Photo privacy and temporary processing

PlaceAgain keeps uploaded copies and review choices in temporary server memory, not a permanent guest library. GPS is added or replaced only after your explicit approval. A landmark or nearby-area reference need not identify the camera position; captions are optional. Download before leaving. Done revokes this workspace; access expires after one hour without activity or four hours total. Memory is released for reuse, not guaranteed securely erased. Refreshing does not restore your workspace. Originals and downloads on your device are unchanged by clearing. For live processing, a smaller oriented image without embedded metadata is sent independently to Google Gemini and OpenAI. Filenames, capture dates, existing GPS and neighboring answers are excluded; visible text and people in the image remain visible to the providers. Paid Gemini API terms do not use this content for product improvement; Google retains abuse-monitoring data for 55 days. OpenAI API content is not used for training by default; abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, with exceptions including legal and safety obligations. PlaceAgain cannot erase provider records or your downloads. Opening a map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap, exposing your network address and viewed map area. An essential signed allowance cookie lasts up to 30 days and renews without resetting your rolling allowance. Provider prompt caching may also occur. Opaque allowance and spending records persist separately; aggregate counters and optional categorical feedback contain no photos. Render dashboard logs have plan-dependent retention (currently 7, 14 or 30 days); backup, safety and legal records may differ. Separate spending and abuse-prevention records remain until operational review permits removal. Done does not erase these records. Privacy questions: privacy@placeagain.com. Avoid sensitive photographs. Previews are shared only after you choose to proceed.
